Sky services, (including Freesat) are still on the Eutelsat satellite @ 28.5 East. No need to change. To get SKY+/HD services, you need 2 cables from the dish. This means replacing the single LNB for a quad one.

Does not really matter which brand, for a FTA box. You sure that you really need a motorised system for FTA? Suggest that you look at what channels are on offer, first. You might want to consider a fixed, multi LNB system.

Not possible to advise, without seeing, but it is down to signal loss; possibly a connection problem. Check the signal strength.
