    Why is my dvd-r disk only transfering a file at 512kb/s?

    I am transferring a movie to a "Digital Versatile Disc Minus R" as data (not Burning). I have a 24x multi-super drive and the write speed is 16x or 172.80 mbit/s. Why am i only getting 512kb/s transfer speed?
