Digital cameras are typically set to take photos in a 4:3 ratio e.g. 3264x2448 or 2816x2112 etc, so cropping to suit a 5x7 or 8x10 print is asymmetric. Even cropping to a 4x6 can be asymmetric if the desired content is off-center.
On the editors I've used Crop and Resize are separate actions...
