I have the samsung a177 and i unlocked it with t-mobile and i cant send or receive picture messaging how can i fix this?

I just unlocked my Samsung A177 and i tried receiving a picture message and it says "Configuration Error". It also doesn't let me send any pictures. How can i fix this? I need help..

I'm lookin into purchasing an unlocked Samsung a177 to be used on AT&T, i know that AT&T requires data packages with all smartphones but i cant pay that right now. Is the Samsung a177 a smartphone or a standard dumbphone?
