I don't have many LGBT friends despite being a transguy myself, but I'm straight and have no experience in this field. Lesbians and gay men, do you consider "homo" a derogatory name? Would you be very offended if someone used it in a serious manner, without intending to be funny or offensive...

If so, were they referring to an atheist or a theist? I'd imagine that'd be pretty confusing to someone who rambles about religion a lot.
