    What did Benjamin Disraeli mean by 'where knowledge ends religion begins'?

    Is he against religion or for it? I thought he was Jewish? I'm confused as to the meaning of this quote.? Thanks But... but he was a Jew wasn't he!? Why would he say this if he WAS religous.? :S
