    Ford Sports Trac1st gen, engine(possibly transmission) whine?

    whenever my engine revs upwards in gear it makes a whirring sound like if your driving a u-haul. its not annoying but I'm curious what its caused by. DETAILS: 1st gen, ford sports trac, not in good condition and not in bad condition.
