Hello,
I am currently studying for a Chemistry exam, and one of my review questions asks this:
"Ionization energy tends to increase from left to right on the periodic table. Two exceptions to that rule, however, are aluminum and sulfur. Explain them using quantum theory."
I'm not quite sure...
Electron affinity increases in the periods across the p block. An exception to this trend occurs between groups 14 and 15.
Ex: compare the the EA's of C ([He]2s2 2p2) and N ([He]2s2 2p3). Adding an electron to a C atom gives a half-filled p sublevel. This occurs much more easily than forcing an...
For eg, atomic radius decreases from left to right across a period. Yet Oxygen has a larger radius than Nitrogen.
I want to know all the other exceptions along with their reasons. Please help!
Thanks.

photography? Where is the line drawn? when it comes to photo copyrights?
I understand that if something is newsworthy, it doesn't matter, but taking a photo of someone taking AIDS medicine and publishing it can get you sued somehow.
