    Would a pearl necklace from American Eagle be considered fashion/costume jewelry?

    or real jewelry? see i bought it from ae for about $16 a few months ago, and it is made of real freshwater pearls on knotted thread. http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat90086&productId=0482_1234
