    Can I use foursquare without a mobile phone?

    I like the idea of foursquare but I find it strange I can't 'check in' on their Web site. The only thing I was able to do was use their mobile Web site (which looked silly on my laptop) but apparently that doesn't count for badges or something so what is the point? Am I missing something here?
