I just bought The Orange Box via Steam ( like yesterday) so i got Garry's mod 9 free. but when i boot it up It brings me to the main menu It wont let me start a new single player game. All of the other options work except for manage mods. what could be the problem?

i need a garry's mod torrent that works, i also need half life 2 so if you could get a torrent for both that would be good, i downloaded a standalone version with half life 2 the half life 2 work but garry's mod did not
