Im in an argument with someone who believes in geocentrism and i used geosynchronous satellites to disprove geocentrism but he is now asking for how we can know they move.
What is the importance of a satellite in a geosynchronous orbit and what does it have to do with communications, TV, military and computers? Please refer me to websites if you can, thanks!
to remain over one spot on Earth...? A geosynchronous satellite is one that appears to remain over one spot on Earth. Assume that a nearly geosynchronous satellite has an orbital radius of 4.43 107 m.
(a) Calculate its speed in orbit.
? km/s
(b) Calculate its period.
? h
Thanks so much!

A geosynchronous satellite is one that appears to remain over one spot on Earth, as shown below. Assume that a geosynchronous satellite has an orbital radius of 4.30 multiplied by 107 m.
(a) Calculate its speed in orbit
km/s...
These orbits have to be circular. Calculate how high above the earth's surface a satellite in a geosynchronous orbit has to be. The only information needed is the mass of the earth (-6.4 x 10^24kg) and the radius of the earth (-6.4 x 10^6m) It is not good enough to give just the answer (35.8m)...
hi,
help would be nice, thanks

angular speed at this radius is the same as the
rotational speed of the Earth, and so they ap-...
