I had understood that music composed in the US enters the public domain 70 years after the comoser's death, but has some special exception been given to the work of Gershwin? Does anyone have any more details, and are there any other composers similarly protected?
I am doing this project for school "Night of the Notables" and I am going to act as George Gershwin who I think is a notable. So all I need to know now is why teachers use his music to teach their classes. Please can someone help me out here?
