I bought a iPhone 4s from a guy on the street for $75 and its got a bad esn so if I buy the gevey ultra s will it unlock the iPhone and allow me to use it with tmobile?

...but I want to upgrade the OS.? I want to upgrade the OS because it uses 4.1 and all my apps are asking for a newer OS. How can I do this? Thanks.

I have this iphone, i factory restored it and updated the firmware to ios5 before i restored it. I also have the gevey sim card but since its factory restored i cant use it from my knowledge? the phone is locked to telus, will i need the original telus sim card to start it up then use my gevey?
