I enter the cheat in battle and it makes the noise but nothing happens I look at there health and nothing has changed! Same thing goes for the affinity cheats I enter them they make the noise and nothing changes. Am i entering it in the wrong place?

I bought the game when it was used from game-stop and it did not have the manual, so i don't know how to add more people in my school.
