iphone or blackberry

I'm from CANADA, Montreal, QC. I think the 3 best are Bell, Rogers & Fido? I'm already with Fido... But I don't know tooo much about any advantages...

Im going to the states for a month with my family, and I have an unlocked iPhone. Can I get a T-mobile sim, or is my only option At&t?? And if so, is there anyone to activate my blackberry service (including bbm) with at&t for a month, with out signing a contract with them?? Thanks
