I plan to take this test in the near future, but I wanted people to tell me about their experience with this test.
1. How long did you study Japanese for until you took the test?
2. What books did you use?
3. How was each section like on the test?

Are there any similarities between the kanji you learn for the HSK Level A (roughly 800 kanji if I remember) and the JLPT level 4 test or any JLPT test for that matter. I always hear that japanese kanji bases a lot of the characters off of chinese kanji so would learning the HSK Level A benefit...
