In Judaism, is scriptural literalism an issue?
I mean, is there an established group of Jews which defend a strictly literal interpretation of Torah? If so, who are they? If not, why isn't it an issue? I'm curious as to how prevalent things like young earth creationism are in Judaism. -
Why are Evangelical Christians so seeped in Biblical literalism?
They are not willing to travel beyond the Bible and expand on the teachings of Christ unlike Catholics who have stepped beyond Biblical literalism and taken the message of jesus towards an universal level.
