    A boat can travel 37 mph in still water. If it travels 378 miles......HELP!?

    (378 + 288)/37 = 18 hours (that's how long both journeys are) Therefore one journey is 9 hours. When it travels with the current, the speed is 378/9 = 42mph (which is 5mph faster than in still water). When it travels against the current, it's speed is 288/9 = 32mph (which is 5 mph SLOWER...
