pitbulls

I am planning on adopting a pitbull from my local animal shelter. Unfortunately so many people are uneducated about the breed and think they are all killing machines. I have met many sweet pitbulls that go against people's ignorance completely.

Have pitbulls been known to turn on their owners. Also, what would make any dog want to attach their owners?

I think that is not the answer, and you can't call yourself a Dog lover if you want to kill off a certain breed, or species just because they might be aggressive. We always read about these dog bans of pit-bulls and they are the first to be euthanized, rather than look at the owners and fining...

I might be moving to a place where my roommate has a pitbull...Haven't met the dog yet but I am wondering if I should even consider moving to a place where there is a pitbull dog, since I've heard some sad stories regarding a pitbull attack!
