I bought a lg external ge20 super multi dvd rewriter put it doesnt come with any software and doesnt appear at the bottom of screen saying there is new software.im trying to maybe turn off the internal so the external one can work .any ideas wahts going on ?

I am having a problem with my Powermac G4. It will not boot any OS. I have tried installing OS X and OS 9 and nothing works. I believe the firmware is messed up. How do I install the firmware update without booting from the CD-Rom because it will not let you do it booting with the CD.
