I highly doubt the iPhone will be open to other companies
It's like how the sidekick is only for T-mobile. They signed a contract with them stating that they would only make sidekicks for T-Mobile, hence why you can only by them from T-Mobile. If you really want, you can get and unlocked iPhone...
