When I plug in my 2G I-Pod Touch into my RCA RT2870 Home theater, "No usb" appears on the stereo. Does RT2870's not read ipods?

need a amp,how does that work? Would i need an amp?? how does this all work?? does any one have this info..in terms i would understand? ;)
