does it matter what brand you use. I bought Peak(performance motor oil with thermal breakdown) sae 10w-40, I went to the store and they didn't have that brand, so I got another brand called walco (deluxe sae 10w-40 motor oil) I don't want to mess my car up. I am new to driving.

I don't know where my head was at the moment, but I accidentally put 10w40 into a mower that already that had a little bit of sae 30 oil already in it. I realized it before I started the mower. Obviously, I know you should use sae 30 oil and that you wouldn't want to use 10w40 in the mower...

My wife picked up some oil for me but she got SAE 30 API SM instead of 10w/30. My jeep needs an overhead and it's burning oil so I need to top it off before she can leave today for work. Can I use the SAE 30 API SM oil instead of normal 10w/30? I need to know if I can actually use this oil right...
