    Does soaking the grease out of fast food fries help with calorie intake?

    I try to eat healthy, so when i absolutely have to eat fast food and i have fries or tater tots, the grease really disgusts me. I take a few and squeeze them between a napkin or paper towl and there is SO much grease that comes off. My question is, does that reduce the amount of calories?

    Is it better to wash dishes in cold or hot water? Post soaking?

    I know it's more environmentally friendly to use cold water, so I was wondering if it is worth it to try to only use cold? I feel like the dishwashing detergent doesn't rinse off as quickly with cold, so perhaps trying to use it is wasting more water?

    After soaking dry beans....?

    I know this may be a stupid question, but I'm not used to using dry beans. I just quick-soaked some black eyed peas and now that they're rinsed I don't know how much water to put in to finish cooking them. The package doesn't say. I was going to add some onion and bacon. It was 1/2lb dry beans.
