I try to eat healthy, so when i absolutely have to eat fast food and i have fries or tater tots, the grease really disgusts me. I take a few and squeeze them between a napkin or paper towl and there is SO much grease that comes off.
My question is, does that reduce the amount of calories?
I know it's more environmentally friendly to use cold water, so I was wondering if it is worth it to try to only use cold? I feel like the dishwashing detergent doesn't rinse off as quickly with cold, so perhaps trying to use it is wasting more water?
I know this may be a stupid question, but I'm not used to using dry beans.
I just quick-soaked some black eyed peas and now that they're rinsed I don't know how much water to put in to finish cooking them. The package doesn't say.
