Just trying to find a good first car that can take me places. Some info on these cars are - both are used,the manual Pontiac is going for 3000, had 2 owners and has 164,000 km on it, looks in good shape and had regular oil changes. The automatic impala on the other hand is going for 2000$ but...

put car in reverse backed up...moved gear shifter to drive...car still went in reverse...is there a linkage loose maybe? or, is this a bigger problem?

I just bought a year 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and am wondering if I can use an audio auxiliary cable to play songs from my ipod. It is an older car. It has a stereo and CD player but no place to plug a cord into. Can you buy ones that will plug into your cigarette lighter outlet?
