Hi, i have recently installed ubuntu natty. I do not have an internet connection for that computer, therefore i cant download softs directly through software center. I downloaded vlc player from softopedia.. Which is in tar.bz2 format, but i cant install it. Please post step by step installation...
I downloaded a game with tar.bz2 on the end, i used winzip and now i have a huge list of files (1927 files) there is a file which says install but when i click on it it says which program do you want use to open this file, so what program do i use? every one i have tried says error, HELP!!!

I had a tar.bz2-file that got damaged. Using bz2recovery and bunzipping the resulting files, most parts seems to be undamaged, but there are a few parts that's been lost.
What is the best way to proceed to get as complete an archive as possible?
