All brand new ignition system, fuel filter, converter, and injectors aren't leaky. This one has me stumped. I did the math 3 gallons of gas got me 18 miles before it shut down and wouldn't start which means 6 miles to the gallon. I don't understand. Any thoughts?

I have a 91 Chevy 2500 that I recently done work on the timing. I placed a roller cam from a 99 5.7 Vortec. I'm almost sure that I have it timed correctly, but the valves seem to not open all the way. I still need the rockers adjusted. Does anyone know how to do this step correctly?
i have a 87 chevy 5.7 silverado..when cold it takes about 10-15 to start..when vehicle warms up no issue..here is what i have replaced..both fuel pumps..all sensors under hood including coolant and plug on the sensor..check plugs,fuel pressure is at 34 not losing a drop..replaced both...
