I am just starting to get into the series, and have seen the 1st season on DVD, and I'm wondering if it's too soon for the second season to come out yet.

I'm a Twilight fan and have heard "The Vampire Diaries" is really good if you like Twilight. I have not read the books yet but the concept seems interesting. As long as the guys are hot.
