    fiber optics: s/pdif, toslink, lc, sc, st. whats the difference?

    are all of these used for stereos? s/pdif and toslink are the same fight? Is toslink compatible with lc, sc, and st connectors? What are lc, sc, and st used for? Are they all made out of the same cheap material? Or are lc, sc and st made out of the same stuff that fios is made of?
