the icon that shows a umd is in the psp is not showing.

Every time i put a disc in my psp it has the little loading thing on the bottom right hand corner but it loads for 2 minutes saying Cant Read Disc . ive dropped it a few times and put the laser back next to te middle any help? i have a psp Phat 1000 series

I used my PSP last night and picked it up this morning and it wont play any UMDs ( all of my UMDs are American, store purchased disc). the second you open the disc tray the PSP acts normal. If you start it up with the disc tray closed- it goes to the load screen with the little "loading"...

I have no clue how to downgrade it and all the things I've downloaded don't work because I don't have custom firmware. Any ideas?

sometimes, while im playing a umd on my psp, a home button menu will appear, even if i dont press the home button. sometimes, my psp can play games, no problem, but other times, if i hold at an angle, or something, the home button menu will come up. it seems to have more trouble playing umds...

since about September it hasnt always been able to read my discs and when i play movies ( i havnt tried games yet ) it will start to play the movie then it freezes then i got to shake it to start again and it keeps repeating. i hear the disc get like louder.
