I accidentally plugged it in with the dc that is 12 volts. Some smokes came out of it, and now it's not working at all. What could I possibly burn so that I can go and buy a new part to get this resolved?
It produced smokes and smells too...
I have a 2001 SRX 600 Yamaha snowmobile, no starter (At the time, I have no plans to install one). I need an output of 12 volts for some heated clothing I have. I believe I understand I need some sort of converter or part to install on the sled. I just need to know what it's called so I can...
I bought a universal power cable for it so we don't have to waste batteries, but I noticed the adapter says it's 3-12 volts/ 600 mA. The voltage can be changed but the " mA " isn't the same. Can I still use the adapter?
In this week's Gizmodo University: Discover Electronics, we're diving headfirst into the principle theories of electronics. The second of four classes in this series, "Volts, Amps, and Ohms" is presented in conjunction with Sparkle Labs. More »
So I found a 7x12 inch solar panel that came from a jetski. I hooked it to my multimeter and found that it puts out 20.25 volts and 86 watts. I was thinking about rigging it up to a cigarette lighter adapter so I can just plug it in and leaving it on the front seat of my car during long periods...

What are the various electronic component needed, specially the one that step-up/increase the current to burn this harmful mosquito specifically the dengue carrying one?
Last week I started the car and quickly noticed the voltage was in the red zone at about 9 or 10. I already replaced the battery and positive battery cable and same problem. I've been told it's either the ground wires (which I cleaned and are all secure) or the alternator . The car still runs...
I have an FM transmitter which uses batteries and I want to power it with the car battery.
I have this diagram explaining what I want to do,
Will that work? What resistor do I need?

they said that taiwan volts is 110. but my hair strengthening and cellphones charger is 220volts. how can i plug it to hotels plug. do i need to buy avr / regulator or transformer ? how can i know which transformer can plug into 110volts ? is there any specific instruction written on it ?

i am badly disappointed with the bills in my electricity its getting higher. Here in my country we are using a 220 volts power supply, i am thinking that connecting with the other end of cord to the ground and one end of the cord on the outlet will power up a system using a step up transformer...
I want to power a 12V computer fan using only 2 rechargeable batteries (around 1.2 volts each).
The question is: can you give either:
1. A simple circuit that I can build with basic components (transistors, resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformers, coils etc.). Preferably without ICs, but...
I have some basic questions about DV volts to AC volts conversions and how this applies to wattage. Here is where I will begin I took some of those solar lawn lights removed the PV panels, connected them together and get 15 -18 DCVs but its not enough to even power a single item the runs off of...
ok this is going to be a complicated question.
im going to singapore. today i bought the electrical adapter for my computer but when i opened it i realized that it only has 2 holes for my appliance to plug into, and my computer has 3 prongs so it doesnt fit.
i have a japanese adapter. if i plug...
