'01 Hyundai Elantra. Is there a snap ring that holds the outer CV joint on the axle?

I'm replacing the outer CV joint on the passenger side of our elantra. I have it basically all apart so far. The boot is off and the joint is loose. I cannot pull it off of the axle. Is there a snap ring or some other holding device that must be removed?
