Hello, I have a 2001 VW GTI 1.8T and there has been some problems. For awhile the check engine light was on and the car was slow while climbing RPMs. I eventually took off the mass airflow censor and cleaned it out. The car then ran 100%. A few week later it went down hill. The light came back on and the RPMs were dogging and not going over 30RPM. Should I take the car to the dealership or is this a common mass airflow failure?
