I have a pretty bad leak on my right side exhaust manifold and i have a O2 sensor 2 bank 2 going off (right side after catalytic converter. I changed my O2 sensor and reset the check engine light and a couple days later the light came back on. I was quoted $230 to changed the exhaust manifold gasket as the bolts usually break in the engine and there is not much space to work (as my mechanic says). I asked many mechanics and they said that the O2 sensor should not be set off by the exhaust manifold leak (this makes no sense to me)
Is the exhaust manifold leak setting off the oxygen sensor? and if not what do you think is? Please help me i do not want to keep throwing money on this car, it drives fine but the engine light is on and i will have to get emission test here in IL next year
