As I try to move from being parked or at a stop sign I have to use gears 2 or 1 to accelerate. If I start from a parked or stop position and place it on "D" it moves forward but when I accelerate I get a response as if it was in Neutral and if I persist to accelerate after 5 to 10 seconds the car jerks and runs "normal." I notice i can start using gear 2 and as I pick up speed, about more than 20mph I can then switch to Drive and everything seems normal, that is until I have to come to a stop or slow down to less then 20mph then I have to change from "D" back to "2". Its a '02 Ford Escape and the last repair NOT to long ago was the rebuilt of the heads. I don't get any burn smell or see evidence or leeks.
