I'm looking for a used car, compact, somewhat sporty, for $13000 max. I had settled on the Mazda 3 after enjoying my test drive, and for what I'm looking to spend, it seemed to be the best car for my needs. I hadn't considered the elantra, but in my research I noticed that I can get a loaded elantra with less miles than the mazda 3 for about the same price. I was also looking at the civic, but it's hard to find them in my price range, I'd probably have to to with a 2005. Anybody have any advice? I know the elantra and the mazda 3 are no honda civic, but for my price range, should i go with a 2005 civic or get one of the other two cars?

I purchased a new Honda Fit on July '08, and it's a great car. It gets 37 mpg's and it already has 10,000 miles, but it still drives like it did when it was brand new. I bought it at around 15k, but I'm sure an '08 now is a lot less. Its very roomy, and a lot sportier than the Civic or a Mazda or Elantra. It really is a great car, and it takes a lot of wear and tear without showing it in the least. Hope you like whatever car you decide on!
