1986 Volvo 240GL?

Hi,
recently my volvo has been acting up, it occasionally just stalls when im driving and often gives a kickbak when driving.
is there a scan tool in the ECU that i can use to diagnose the problem?

it is a manual and no it doesnt seem to be stalling when stopped

If your volvo acts up and sometimes stalls while driving does it also do so when you come to a complete stop? If so then the answer could to your problem may be a defective torque converter. If so the best bthing to d is to replace it. It is a costly repair but if not replaced it may burn up your transmission completely more than tripling the cost of the defective torque converter.
