i have a 1991 honda accord and the tape player in it will not work anymore. i recently bought a tape adapter so i could listen to my ipod in the car. the adapter worked perfectly for about 2 weeks. one day while it was playing the entire system made a funny noise and ejected the tape. the player has not worked since with any kind of tape. it will not take in anything into the slot, the adapter or any tape otherwise.

does anyone know how to fix this? help would be greatly appreciated. 10 points for best answer. thanks.

I have a '96 accord and was having problems with the factory deck as well. I also know that many times those tapes to put in so you can listen to iPod will mess it up. They aren't very good for the system and can ruin motors, or the unit that reads the tape. I don't think there is a cheap fix for it. It's also likely that one of the gears inside that helps to fit the tape in has sheared off (the gears are plastic). You would be better off to buy a new deck. You can get some decent ones for a couple hundred bucks or less. They even come with an iPod input so you won't have to mess with a tape and you'll get better quality too :D
