In a tug of war a 4x4 Vs a 2 wheel drive, the 4x4 will ALWAYS win. Put it in 4x4 Low, and give it enough gas to pull, but not enough to break the tires loose [One that happens your toast.]
The Chevy would win if it had the 5.7, but if it had the 4.3 I would bet on the Ford. A 4.3 probably wouldn't be in a truck with a towing package if it were a factory tow package.
I say the Chevy would likely win because it has a weight advantage (extended cab), and it is four wheel drive, even without the four wheel drive engaged it has more wieght on the rear wheels. Then again, alot depends on gearing too. More information would be needed to be sure.
It's an impossible question, since the 95' chevy k1500 never had the 5.3L as an option. In 1995 the Chevrolet K1500 was offered with a 4.3L v6, a 5.0L (305) v8, and a 5.7L(350) v8. The 5.3L was not available until 99'. So if the chevy truck doesn't exist, then the ford is the winner.
Hope this helps. Christopher
Probably the Chevy because it's a 4X4 which means it will have a lot more pulling power. The Ford has more power but all that will do is spin the wheels. I say probably because you need to know the axle ratios to be sure.
