This truck's speedometer moves about wildy when driving the car. Sometimes it reads correctly but other times it doesn't.
My guardian is giving this vehicle to me, and I want to know how to fix this problem before I get it, I am not experienced enough to drive by feel alone, and even if I follow traffic I could still be speeding?!

I would appreciate any help. If you could tell me instructions on how to fix it, I would love that. I am mechanically inclined so it wouldn't really be a problem for me :)

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Also it someone could tell me how to get it out of All-Time 4wd, Trying to switch it out of All-Time results in a loud grinding noise when I accelerate, could it be the transfer case and how much do one of these cost?

Blessings.

ok well speed sensor is probably on its way out, but your speedo should still be good. As far as how to fix it, there too much to explain on here really, so go out and buy a repair manual for your vehicle and it will have step by step instructions for you. Are you sure you have full-time 4x4 on that? usually older model 4x4 have part-time 4x4, which means you should definitely not be driving on dry pavement with that! It will mess up your transfer case big time, because unlike full-time 4x4, only the wheels that have the most traction are going to be spinning, and you can seriously put alot of tension on some components. A used transfer case at a junkyard or a rebuilt one, your looking at around $200-$600. I would strongly recommend installing locking hubs in your t-case if you do get a new one, because it will reduce tension quite a bit and give you a positive engagement everytime. GOOD LUCK!
