It can be a number of things,
First Have the fuel pump pressure checked, When was the last time you changed the fuel filter, it can be stopping up and cutting off the fuel.
The reason you loose everything is the engine stops.

Do an OBD2 code check. If the car hasn't been tuned up in a few years, that may be overdue.

Hi,

I have noticed from the past few weeks that sometimes my car stops while driving. Everything stops working including power steering, acclerator, etc. The only things that don't stop working are head lights, car stereo etc. Could you please suggest what this can be? and what can I do to get it fixed?
