1998 VW Jetta Glx Lower control arm problem?

I have a 1998 Jetta Glx, I hit a curb and bent my lower control arm 'driver side', I ordered the part, i took off every bolt 'lower control arm only' except one, as i tried to take off the bolt it gets stuck on the transmission pan, i tried to raise the whole tyranny, and it only goes up about an inch or 2, it is not enough room to pull out the bolt, I can remove the pan, but that will cause the fluids to spill out, and with this model, or most germen cars, you have to get the fluids put back in by a Vw dealer or some type of mechanic, has anyone had this problem or know of anyway i could get the drivers side lower control arm without removing the tyranny fluid pan?
