My wife is just about to crack and slip into one hell of a depression (she is starting to show signs of the beginning to depression), our 1yr just won't stop whining all the time. He just wants mum's attention all the time, i have read quite a bit about this on the internet but everything just keeps saying to walk away and ignore the whining.
THIS WON'T WORK FOR US.
I won't work because if he cries for too long (even just 30 seconds) he will choke, and i mean seriously choke, so bad he throws up everything in his stomach and will go red in the face, letting him cry will just result in a choking session and we have had far too many scary chokes (to the point he collapses) so this technique won't work.
Some say to distract him, yeah sure for all of 1 minute. He won't sit and play by himself, sometimes but very rarely he will and my wife can sneak away but as soon as he see's her ........ it's on again, constantly whining until she picks him up.
It is literally to the point where she just can't get anything done throughout the day at all now.
Please help, what do we do ?? we are at breaking point (not exaggerating)
He is not in pain because he simply switches it on and off, if he is distracted or out and about then he is a perfect little angel but whenever we are home, that's when it happens. So i think it's fairly clear that its not pain related
