FIrst off just bought the truck. Has 149k on the engine. Need some ideas on what to do to tune this up. Has the distributorless engine. Just don't know where to start. Performance seems a little sluggish. No pep really. Is this common with Ford? I can stomp the gas and its just not responsive or at least not as much as I'd like. Especially considering that this is the biggest V6 they make...I think. Next, the steering wheel is not straight. If your normal steering wheel was at 9 and 3 o'clock mine is at 12 and 6 o'clock. I thought it just needed an alignment. When I took it to have the alignment done they told me the alignment was great and that someone had replaced the rack and pinion steering and just didn't line the column up with the steering wheel properly. I've read that I can take the steering wheel off and try adjust it that way but I don't know if it is "keyed" so that the steering wheel only fits on the column one way? If not great problem solved. But if it is what do I do then? The shop I took it to for the alignment can't fix it. Any ideas would be really appreciated! I like this truck and would like to see it through the next 50k or so if I can squeeze that much out of an american made automobile. Tune up and steering suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
