I have a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse spider (3.0 6 cyl.) that has a blown motor. I have looked for an eclipse motor to replace it with, but I can't seem to find any that fit my budget at the moment. I'm no mechanic, so I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that there are other types of motors, some even from different companies, that will fit my car. For example, someone said a mitsubishi galant motor will fit, some said something from dodge (stratus, maybe?). My question: is this true? If so, what engines will swap over without too much trouble? What year models? If someone could help, I'd appreciate it. I refuse to sell my car, but eclipse parts seem hard to come buy.
