My 2002 Ford Taurus won't start or turn over at all. The battery seems to be fine (horn and headlights work). What I think the problem is, is that when the key is in the ignition, I cannot move the automatic transmission shifter out of park.
For comparison, I also own a 2001 Taurus, and I tried shutting it off, putting the key in, and I could move the shifter. Seems like the shifter is being locked, thus not allowing the car to turn over. (Had a similar problem with an old Chrysler).
Does anyone know what might be goj g on here, and how to fix it?
Thanks.
