My 2002 Tahoe has 140K miles on it and started intermittently not starting last winter. I replaced the power cable to the starter and that worked for a few months but it's now doing it again.
When the key is turned to the start position everything does what it's supposed to do (gauges, lights, radio, etc. turn off) but the starter does not engage. No clicks, no noise, nothing. Then it will start sometimes after one minute and one attempt or sometimes not till the next day after multiple attempts. It has a relatively new battery and did load test it (it's fine) all the connections are clean and tight.
Does anybody have any idea for a solution? When I replace the power cable last december I did take the starter in and had it tested and they said it was fine. Can a starter go out slowly over time or do they just quit working? Really need some hwlp with this so I can fix this once and for all!
Thank you for any help/suggestions!
