2003 Ford Focus or 2001 Volkswagen Beetle?

I'm torn between buy two cars.. a 2001 highlighter yellow Volkswagen Beetle with 126k miles and a 2003 gray Ford Focus sedan with 108k miles. They are both automatic. They are both the same price, I just don't know which would be the better car. I am 20 years of age and getting married in September, then will be starting a family (I have a disease so if I don't try for a baby soon, I may never be able to have one..so don't judge on the age.) I don't know much about either of these vehicles, so it would be great if I could get info to weigh the pros and cons of each. If you have one of these vehicles, tell me what you think of them.. would you buy one again? Which would be the better more practical car for me? Just let me know what you think of each car.. or if you've heard of any problems with either of them.
