So today I decided that I was going to remove the original air filter in my 2003 vw golf and put in an after market cone instead to give it a little more power. After I did this my engine started over heating and my thermostat light and engine light came on in my car. I left the stock piping on the car and only put and afterstock cone on so all of the sensors are still connected properly. I really have no clue as to why my engine is overheating so badly and would really appreciate some thoughts as to why... Also its not over heating a little bit, it is redlining on the thermostat gauge. Thanks.
